It seems to me that the artist is constantly fighting against the noise… looking for an opening where you can listen.
There is so much noise all around us that we are distracted and ultimately seduced into oblivion. To stop all that distraction, even for one brief moment: to find a space where silence can take over and you can hear your thoughts.
Hear yourself think. Within that space there is a brief moment of clarity. The artist seeks to bring us to that moment where reflection seeps in, penetrates the noise. Sometimes it requires shock therapy.
